WhatsApp QR Code Generator

Your number.
One scan to chat.

Turn your WhatsApp number into a QR code for a card, counter sign or package. Add an optional first message, choose a color or logo, and download PNG, SVG or PDF. A scan opens the chat; the visitor chooses whether to send the message.

A static code keeps its original number and message. Choose a dynamic QR code before printing if those details may change.

1

Add your WhatsApp details

Use the full international number. Spaces, brackets and hyphens are removed; a leading + is optional. Do not add a domestic dialing prefix or extension.

Appears as a draft in the chat. Visitors can edit it and must tap Send.

Direct chat link. No account needed. New details require a new printed code.

From a phone number to a conversation

Check the recipient first, then make and test the code you will actually share.

  1. 01

    Check the full number

Use the number for an active WhatsApp account, including its country calling code. Confirm the recipient and remove any domestic trunk prefix before entering it. This tool checks the format, not whether the account exists.

  2. 02

    Add a useful opening message

A short question can tell you which service or product the visitor is asking about. It is only a draft: the visitor can change it or leave without sending. Generate the code with your chosen color, logo and print size.

  3. 03

    Download and test

Use PNG for a screen or SVG/PDF for print. Scan the downloaded file on another device, check the recipient and draft, then print a sample at its final size. Keep the white margin and avoid stretching or cropping.

What goes into the chat link?

The QR code carries an ordinary WhatsApp click-to-chat link. It does not create an account, log anyone in or send a message.

Full international number

wa.me/12025550142

Include the country calling code. The generated link contains digits only; spacing and a leading + in the form are for easier entry. Ask the recipient if you are unsure of their international number.

An optional first message

?text=…

Accents, emoji and line breaks are URL-encoded. Keep the message short: more text makes the code denser and can require a larger print size.

A personal or business contact

One recipient

The number must have an active WhatsApp account. This is a one-to-one chat destination, not a group invitation, channel link or WhatsApp Web login code.

Give people a clear reason to scan

Put a short invitation next to the code so people know whom they are contacting and why.

Counter cards and shop signs

Place the code beside an invitation such as “Ask us about availability.” A relevant opening draft helps a visitor start the conversation; no message is sent until they choose to send it.

Packaging and service instructions

Let a customer ask about the item in front of them. Keep private customer details out of the preset message: everyone with the code can read the number and draft.

Business cards and long-lived materials

Use a contact you can keep available. If you expect the number or opening message to change after printing, choose a managed dynamic destination before producing your materials.

Keep it direct, or change it after printing?

Choose based on whether the number or message will need updating later.

The number is public. Visitors choose whether to send.

Anyone with the image can read its phone number and preset message. Share only a contact you can publish and keep confidential details out of the draft. A dynamic link does not turn the destination into private messaging data.

WhatsApp, the browser and installed apps decide how the link opens. Visitors need an active account and access to WhatsApp; this tool cannot confirm registration, guarantee an app launch or prove that a message was delivered. It is independent of WhatsApp and Meta.

Before you share your WhatsApp code

01

Is a static WhatsApp QR code free?

You can generate and download the static code without signing in. It stores the direct chat link and has no scan allowance or expiry set by this tool. The account, number and WhatsApp service must remain available. Dynamic QR codes require an account and follow the limits of your plan.

02

Will it automatically send my first message?

No. The text appears in the chat compose field. Visitors can edit it, send it or leave without sending anything. This tool does not read replies, automate messaging or send bulk messages.

03

Which phone number format should I use?

Use the complete international number: country calling code followed by the national number without a domestic dialing prefix. You may paste +, spaces, brackets or hyphens; the displayed chat link uses digits only. Check the recipient yourself before printing.

04

Can I change the number or message later?

For a static code, changing this form does not update already printed images. Generate and distribute a new code. For a managed dynamic code, update the saved destination in the workspace; keep using the original printed short-link code.

05

Will it open the app or WhatsApp Web?

That depends on the scanning device, browser and installed apps. The link can be handled by WhatsApp on a phone or WhatsApp Web, where login may be needed. Test on the devices your visitors use; this tool cannot force the app to open.

06

Is this the QR code for logging in to WhatsApp Web?

No. This page creates a link to a phone-number chat. For WhatsApp Web login, use the current login code shown by WhatsApp itself. Do not share account-login QR codes as a public contact code.

07

Does it work for groups or WhatsApp Business?

An active personal or WhatsApp Business number can be the recipient. A group invitation or channel is a different kind of destination; if you already have its public HTTPS link, use the general website QR tool. This form does not create or manage groups.

08

Why does my code fail to open the intended chat?

Check the country code and recipient number, whether that account is active, and whether the device can use WhatsApp or Web. For an unreadable print, use a dark color, keep the white border and try a larger size. A readable code does not prove that the account exists or that a message was sent.
